Valjawan "Val" Deer started the company almost thirty years ago as a one man operation. He traveled around the United States focusing on the coastal areas, building and thatching Tiki structures, using knowledge and a craft taught to him by his father.

Val started with a vision to develop A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. from a small one man operation into an internationally known Thatch and Themeing company, providing unsurpassed quality and craftsmanship to his clients. He has been instrumental in the development of A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. as well as the Thatching industry in the United States. Mr. Deer wrote the requirements and guidelines concerning Thatching for the State of Florida. A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. was the first Licensed and Certified Traditional Thatched Structure Contractor in the United States (License # CY 000001).

Val has traveled around the world learning and perfecting all types of Thatching methods, using all of the traditional Thatching materials: Reed, Grass, Straw and Palm. As he traveled, Mr. Deer hand-selected the finest quality Thatching materials available, using years of practical experience, sense of touch, taste, smell and vision to provide only the Best for his clients. His vision has resulted in a company that is recognized around the world for their work for Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Water Parks, Zoos, Celebrity Clients, Television & the Motion Picture Industry and Disney.

Mr. Deer's one man operation almost thirty years ago has grown into a company that imports from over 27 different countries, has satellite offices in Asia and Africa, construction crews working all over the world, a company website and a name that stands for quality and craftsmanship on any project.
